Temporary Closure of Qantas Melbourne Facilities Impacting Freight out of Tasmania - Parcels to be delayed by 2-3 days
07/08/2020 - Melbourne's Qantas Freight Terminal has partially opened for Air Freight movements between Tasmania and Victoria, with freight moving between Launceston and Melbourne once again via aviation. Delays of 2-3 days are still in place due to backlogs. Tracking updates may not reflect locations of movements correctly due to backlogs.
05/08/2020 - Melbourne's Qantas Freight Terminal is still temporarily paused for Air Freight movements. Freight is still leaving Tasmania via Sydney's Qantas Freight Terminal, along with smaller avaiation services to Essendon Airport (Melbourne) and via Ferriers across Bass Straight (Port Melbourne). Delays of 2-3 days are still in place. Tracking updates may not reflect locations of movement due to to the temporary alterations in freight movement around Melbourne and out of Tasmania.
03/08/2020 - In response to the advice of the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, Qantas has temporarily paused operations out of their Melbourne Freight Terminals, which is used to charter goods and services by Australia Post form the Mainland of Australia to Tasmania (and vice-versa).
This temporary closure may have impacts to orders leaving our store which are destined to the Mainland, with an estimated of 2-3 days on top of estimated delivery times, as Australia Post uses road freight (via the Bass Straight Ferries) until alternative Freighter services are sought. Australia Post, and their affiliates, are making every effort to minimise the impact to customer. Is your retail store open?
YES WE ARE, our retail shopfront is still open at this stage with restricted hours (9am to 1pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm Saturdays) - to ensure we spend more time packing online orders, re-stocking and getting through customer enquries.
Is your online store still open?
YES IT IS, no impacts to our online store at this stage.
Are there any impacts to deliveries?
YES THERE ARE. As customers are moving towards shopping online and the reduction of air travel due to Governement Restrictions, Customers will see delays across the postal network.
Australia Post has warned that while they are still working and operating, customers will expect to see significant delays. This is predominately due to increase on the next work, and the limited Passenger Flights across Australia in which cargo and mail is sent upon. This will be most notiable on the Express Postage network. Some customers have experienced quicker delivery times whereas some have also experienced slower delivery times.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS - some countries are no longer accepting mail and parcels, and/or restrictions are imposed. This list changes daily and it is important you check with your local Government and Postal Services first before placing an order as we may not be able to send your order until restrictions in your Country have been lifted.
Are there any impacts to stock lines and supplies?
YES THERE IS. Due to the demand in hobby supplies Australia wide and Overseas, some lines may be sold out or be delayed in replenishment. Some brand lines are also impacted where factories have been temporarily shut down. Please also note: due to the Australian dollar and the economic hit, some international brand prices will rise as result when replensihed.
